Our project inquiry form is available to you on our website. We follow up within 24 hours. Alternatively, please feel free to contact us via phone or email to begin a conversation about your project. From our initial exchanges of information, we will determine whether your project is a good fit for our studio, and set up an initial meeting. After meeting, we will issue a proposal for professional services for your review. This serves as a contract and guide for our work together.

Our onboarding process addresses the budget so that you have a clear idea of what’s ahead. As the project progresses, we track these expenditures in real time and adjust as needed. Our Guided Consultation is ideal for clients who need a professional eye on a more limited budget.

The length of your project is directly linked to its size; light renovations can take 3-6 months, where new construction we employ our four-part design process to set the road map for your project:
1. Onboarding/Schematics
2. Conceptual Design
3. Design Documentation
4. Implementation
In the very early stages of working with HLCo, we outline scope, timeline and a budget. Spending the time doing this exercise is worthwhile as it sets the pace and expectations for your whole team.
While unexpected delays and shifts are not uncommon, having these guiding documents can greatly assist in keeping the project on course, and making choices that feel aligned with the bigger picture and purpose.

Frequent communication is key to delivering a strong and positive result.
However, each client has a unique set of circumstances, budget, and level of service. We tailor our methods to your preferences and lifestyle. When you fill in our client intake form, we gather data on your availability and expectations. We email a weekly update summarizing the week’s work, highlighting next steps or decisions we need to make.
